The new capability extends EIIG’s data intelligence, offering enterprises deeper visibility, lineage, and insight across the enterprise data landscape .
San Mateo, California — August 25, 2026 — Orion Governance today announced that its Enterprise Information Intelligence Graph (EIIG), the company’s AI Data Fabric for trusted enterprise AI, has expanded its Java ingester offering to include support for Apache Flink. This adds on top of EIIG’s existing capabilities to trace information flow from within Java applications without requiring any instrumentation.
Apache Flink is widely used in real-time analytics for its ability to process very large volumes of data. EIIG now offers automated metadata harvesting and analysis for Apache Flink. Combined with existing support for Java Spark, IBatis, MyBatis, Hibernate, Springboot, and Kafka, this release broadens open-source data coverage, empowering teams with end-to-end lineage and visibility across their data environments.
As enterprises increasingly rely on modern architectures to power real-time analytics, fraud detection, customer experience, risk management, and AI applications, understanding how data is created, transformed, and consumed has become essential.
“With the addition of Apache Flink, EIIG continues to expand its support for the modern enterprise data ecosystem,” said Ramesh Shurma, CEO of Orion Governance. “Our ability to provide automated, field-level traceability across technologies—while handling dynamic lineage for re-entrant applications written in Java/Python and traditional ETL—puts Orion Governance in a unique position to deliver true enterprise AI context.”
With this enhancement, EIIG captures metadata from Flink environments and integrates it with metadata from databases, data lakes, warehouses, BI platforms, ETL and ELT tools, applications, and other enterprise technologies. This integration allows organizations to:
– Discover Apache Flink assets within a centralized enterprise metadata environment
– Understand streaming data pipelines and the relationships among jobs, sources, transformations, and targets
– Extend data lineage across real-time processing environments and the broader data estate
– Improve impact analysis by identifying potential downstream effects of changes to streaming data pipelines
– Strengthen governance and compliance with greater transparency into real-time data processing and transformation
– Support trusted AI and analytics by providing richer context about the origin, movement, transformation, and usage of enterprise data
Expanding the Foundation for Trusted AI
AI and analytics depend on data distributed across an increasingly complex technology landscape. To govern and trust that data, organizations need a connected understanding of information spanning batch and streaming pipelines, cloud and on-premises platforms, applications, analytics, and AI systems.
EIIG addresses this challenge by automatically ingesting metadata from more than 70 technology sources and connecting technical, business, and operational metadata within an intelligent graph. Its active metadata capabilities deliver continuous intelligence for data governance, lineage, impact analysis, observability, risk, compliance, and AI.
This new feature is now available as part of the Orion Governance Enterprise Information Intelligence Graph platform.
